It tells the story of Irène, a woman who has been trapped in a record. Through the music, she is trying to communicate with the outside world. Irène is the record, and the record is Irène — her portrait is on the front cover.
She feels enigmatic, timeless, and slightly unsettling. AI helped me create a face that belongs to no one and therefore could be anyone. The iner bag (above) represents the in-between — Irène merging with black vinyl, before becoming the vinyl itself. The typography evokes runes or incantations and suggests a sense of witchcraft.
